Spanning 73 meters between the Marriot Serviced Apartments Buildings on the Dubai Creek, The “Skywalk Bridge” is a world record. Its rival for fame, the Petronas Towers bridge is 19 meters shorter. EBS has designed the structure connections to stand fatigue and aerodynamic stresses. In addition to the design, EBS scope included the fabrication, fire protection, transport and site installation. The fabrication activity was particularly complex because of three dimensional assemblies and stringent quality controls. The transport of large pre-assembled sections required special rigs, police escort and night travel. The lifting was made by strand-jacking.
